Central Coast Cycling Circuit... anniversary trip

Spent a lovely anniversary weekend down south, biking around, touring breweries, sampling food, and staying with warm showers hosts.  We took care of Thomas and Camille the weekend before, so Alexis and Mi-Suk took Kai and Nikko in for this weekend.

Morning snuggles...
Breakfast of champions on Piedmont Ave.
On our way down we stopped by James and Courtney's place in San Jose which they've been remodeling for almost a year... the place was almost unrecognizable from the outside.
And the inside was totally unrecognizable.  Beautiful house!
They had the right beer for me
And on our way down to the campsite we stopped at a brewery.  Our first of the tour.  Their pretzles were amazing...
And had some yummy sushi near by: https://www.yelp.com/biz/kuma-sushi-los-osos
And we got a tiny plate of desert.
We arrived in the dark and we got up the next morning and got going.  Didn't get to hang out much at Montana de Oro.  We camped at the group site a few years ago with the Wash U kids when Kai broke his arm...
Then we drove to Celia's for brekky...

And soon we were off...
Avila beach pier

Soooo many kayaks...

Pelican-Selfie
We visited the Avila Valley Barn where we had some snacks and saw some animals.  http://avilavalleybarn.com/ The kids would've like this place.
Hey Eli and Emi!

Looks like some great sea kayaking
Our second brewery of the tour.  Bittersweet brewery.  Not too bad... don't need to go back.  https://www.yelp.com/biz/bittersweet-brewing-grover-beach?osq=brewery
On our way up to a winery...
And our last brewery... we went with our Warmshowers host.. https://www.yelp.com/biz/central-coast-brewing-san-luis-obispo?osq=brewery

Kim with our WarmShowers host.  He was wonderful!

We had a short ride back to our car the next morning...
bear sighting!
Back to the three stacks and a rock...
Our 4th brewery... https://www.yelp.com/biz/barrelhouse-brewing-co-paso-robles-2
Had to stop for this pic... might be a fun one to print out egh?
5th brewery stop... https://www.yelp.com/biz/earth-and-fire-brewing-company-paso-robles-2
And our last... Toro Creek. This place was cool https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/toro-creek-brewing-company-paso-robles

Came home... did a lake lap, all is good.

Lou Doo in Tahoe!

Tahoe in the fall!  Just gorgeous...
We planned out a tree-trimming/mtn biking/beach gathering/family friendly trip for Lou Doo to come down in the fall.  He came down for a week... cut down some trees at Dave and I's houses and we all settled in at Haus Von FAT for the weekend.  I thought the plan was for the Metres' and Servaites' to bring their kiddos... but that fell through and Kai and Nikko had to play with the adults.  Shucks.

The boys had a few pee stops on the way up...
S. Lake!
As soon as we got there, we got the kids on the bikes and took them on a short bike ride.
To Sawmill Pond... which looked like a great spot for kids to go fishing...
Soon we were over at HvF, where Funk got the kids all riled up and they had a wrestling match
Next morning... breakfast on the deck
Check out Louie's Volvo.  It was an automatic, but now he has a 6 speed manual tossed in there!
Ready to roll!
About 5 ft from the trailhead...
Our first crash... good one Metres!
The rest of the ride was quite nice.
Meanwhile... the little stinkers were up to no good...
eating ice cream, swimming in crystal clear water of Tahoe...
Danielle brought the girls down for the day.  And Louie and I skipped out halfway to join our ladies at the beach.
Soon the boys showed up and we got to play some more spikeball...
The kiddos were loving the SUP
And back at HvF, Danielle was getting ready to party.  By chugging some olive oil...
And the kiddos got dressed up like Miley.

Group hugs!
