Touring around Shasta with Casey

I think this might have been my first time down to Shasta without attempting to summit. Kinda crazy.  Hooked up with Casey to do a day of touring on Sun Bowl.  The conditions looked good... calm winds, great snow, and blue bird day...

There was some sluffage going on after these s. faces got some solar on them.

And made it back for the kids recital.

Shasta Ascension Race

Went down to Shasta Ski Park with the fam for the weekend and participated in the Ascension ski race.  Got 14th OA and 3rd in age group.  Quite a big difference between me and the leaders.  Always humbling.  

The fam had a great time this weekend as they had the Ski Ball, which consisted of a party after the event with food, music, and booze.  That was super fun.  Although it was freezing down there.  The ski area is fun.  Longer runs, with more intermediate terrain.  Better for the kiddos.

Fun weekend down at Shasta. Night skied on Mt. A on Fri, then went straight to Shasta for the night. Got humbled at the #shastaascension race (good audio there) and got to demo skis the rest of the day (had to test how they huck off sketchy take offs). Twilight skied with the boys then went straight to the Snow Ball 🎉 which was a blast. We’ll be back next year!

With night skiing, and a fire pit outside, Kimbo gave it thumbs up.

Got a long ways to go to make top 10.  Maybe with SkiMo equipment and lots of training?

The boys loved the lights!  And the sprite!

And Sena?  WTF?  Fun Coincidence

Oregon Coast New Years Road Trip... 2019-2020!

The inlaws came into town and we decided to go check out the Oregon Coast! 

Dec 30: Ashland to Waldport via Sea Lion Caves
Started the day off with a morning ski with Will.  Then we drove to the Sea Lion Caves

🏔 to 🌊 today. Sunrise at the top of #mtashland is always a nice way to start the day. Then drove to the coast with a stop at the sea 🦁 caves.

Dec 31: Seal Rock, Oregon Coast Aquarium
After a nice NYE morning beach run, we headed for the Aquarium, and then to Rogue Brewing.

The #oregoncoast delivers! The cape Kiwanis dunes were a favorite with the boys! Waterfalls are 👌 too. Add the breweries, mossy trees, wineries, the views, and goonies. It’s clearly a winning combo. #gooniesneversaydie
