Spring Break in Tahoe '18

Busy, busy spring break!  Sooo much fun.  So much skiing, so many friends... let's do it again. 

The crew from 2 years ago.

and last year... 

Fri - up to Tahoe after AIM spring performance with Mi-Suk and the twins. 

started off the break with a quick Morning Run to MV cemetery with Josh

Nikko's AIM spring performance!

Mi-Suk BARTed over to Richmond with the twins and soon we were on our way up to Tahoe!  Stopped by Jelly Belly, but the line was enormous.  

After we finally arrived at Pahatsi, I went on a quick Evening Skate Ski.  Great conditions, awesome sunset. 

Sat - morning skate ski, SB with the boys, Diamond Peak Uphill/Downhilll race.

Morning skate ski - solo.  Perfect conditions out there. 

I skied with the boys, Alexis with his kids, so we gave the ladies a break and they got to ski by themselves.  

SB with the boys - didn't ski with Kimbo at all.  Alexis and I skied all over the mountain with Kai, Nikko, Thomas, and Camille. 

We skied until 2:30, then we packed up and went straight to Diamond Peak uphill downhill race.  Mi-Suk and Alexis both signed up which was fun.  Got my butt kicked this year.  The rando racers are getting super fast. 

On our return leg, we went by Dave & Danielle's for a pizza party.  The pizza place messed up again and gave us 50% off.... which was nice, but they really need to get it together.  

Sun - Easter, no car day.  Mooreheads, Metres,

This was a fun, no car day.  First I Skate skied to SB.  

Then skied with the boys.  Did a few flips in the park.  Fun.  Ski with the boys

Hard to believe Sam and I were skiing down that rock a week ago.  

By the time I Skated back to Pahatsi, there was a hot tub party going on!

We had a potluck party at Pahatsi.  I think this might have been the record number of kids and adults.  After some folks left, Sam arrived late.  

Mon - Got my day off in the Desolations with Drew and Sam.

Got up Dick's and Jack's via Maggie's.  Beautiful day!  So good to get back out there.  Kimbo had a playdate with some of Nikko's AIM friends in Tahoe Donner.  

Tues

Had my Best Skate session yet in the morning, solo.

Then I took the kids out to Sugar Bowl.  SB with the kiddos

while the ladies took XC skiing lessons at Royal Gorge.  

Stopped by the tunnels... but it was muddy, icy, and quite wet in there.  So we quickly turned around.

Went on a cruise on my fat bike.  First time riding on Serene Lakes proper! Wheelie practice

Wed - Another big day.  Dawn patrol with Drew up Castle, Skate lessons with Alexis, Judah terrain park!, swimming at the pool, ticke to ride.

awesome terrain back here.  Definitely going to be my go-to dawn patrol from now on... 

Got back at 9 am, in time to get ready and walk down to our skate ski lessons at Royal Gorge.  

The lessons were amazing.  Learned a TON.  Definitely want to take more lessons.  After the lessons we had to skate to SB to meet up with the ladies.  I told Alexis there'd be plenty of water.  Which there was... kinda.  

This guy is silly.  Had a fun time in the Judah terrain park.  Got my front flips dialed.  Backflips were getting better... 

At the pool!  Met up with the Metres ladies and Koen.

Thurs - Last full day in Tahoe... so I decided to do a longer skate to Mariah Pt.  Started out with Alexis and continued on.  Then we went to SB for our last day

Fri - Wim Hoffing in Serene Lakes.  Start of the rain... retreat to Oakland.  Kimbo at Winter Wondergrass

The boys were exhausted after a fun week in Tahoe.

I left Kimbo up there for Winter Wondergrass.  Despite the rain they had a great time.
