Third time's a charm - Peter Grubbin' yet again! for Easter!W

Another year, another hut trip.  The last two years I've been meaning to head to Bradley, but we couldn't get the spots.  So we went back to Peter Grubb, which is a fine hut.

On the 19th, I got to go skate skiing on primo ice, which meant I could skate anywhere I wanted as the conditions lined up perfectly.  Later we skied our last day at Sugar Bowl for the season, then I rode my fat bike down to Lake Serena to make Wim Hof proud.

It's basically badly groomed everywhere!
That is where the run used to go...
Lovely morning

Then we drove over to Sugar Bowl where they had crews shoveling snow off their lodge...
Yo amo Spring Skiing!
They were getting the pond skimming ready for tomorrow.  Bad timing...
Took the boys to the cave for the last time this season...
fun rainbow clouds.  Nacreous?
Palisades were still looking good on this closing weekend...
Fat bike!
Soon we found an opening!

Kim wasn't impressed
lovely walk...
Nikko found a cool feather.
carnage from the season...

The boys dyed eggs with Mi-Suk back at Pahatsi

Got up to sneak in a quick skate lap... my last one of the season.  Not sure what happened to the Bogus Basin hut, but I'm guessing the snow on top melted off and broke the windows.

Here's our trip out to Peter Grubb:

Lazy morning for the boys
more carnage on the way to the trailhead
yikes

and soon we were on our way!
This stinker was going to make it by himself this year!

There may have been some whining and moaning...
up the hill!
quick break...
And we've made it before we knew it!
Kai on top of a 30+ ft roof...
Everyone went inside and cozied up while Alexis and I had a beer in celebration.

The boys found a sled inside and took it for a few test runs.
Basin looking purty

Sweet sunset

Alexis and I did a quick lap on Basin after we arrived.

Always bring your mouse trap to PG... or any hut for that matter.
Adrien took off with an alpine start and met us at the hut at 7 am.
Then we skinned up to Castle and had a surprisingly fun descent.  Alexis and I skied back to the hut, while Adrien split off half way.

Got back to the hut in time to hide the dyed eggs and have an Easter egg hut
Nikko with his loot
Brekky time!
we shared the hut with a few Stanford students, who were great with the kiddos and had a long snow ball fight with them.

The way out went much smoother than the way in.

Back at the house!  Nikko was getting his stinky groove on.
We went to Ski Ranch for dinner and beers.  Perfect temps!
