Orman's '21 - Jr. Lifeguard Camp

Some stava stuff.

  • Sat (Aug 14) - Craig Creek Trail Run - this was a nice run from the swimming hole between the two bridges.  I saw Craig Creek Swimming Area on this run... which is where we ended up a few times in the afternoons.
  • Sun - Bald Hill Mtn Bike with Ghelfi, Herron, Koster, Carr - Ghelfi ran into some Shasta folks at Orman's, so we had a nice crew to ride with.  Saw a redwood on fire (lightening).  Here's some more info on it from the Redwood NP facebook pages... Bald Hill is a fire road, but it's a pretty fun hill.  Would like to do the loop next time... which would be like 3 hrs, I think.

Central Oregon Road Trippin' - Part 2: Bend with Mooreheads/Dixons

After Waldo Lake, the boys and I checked out the bike park at Bachelor.  Just the kiddie zone.  That was fun for a few hrs.

The Bridges came up and met up with us for the next few days.

I believe this is Tumalo Falls... that Shasta and I ran to, while the fam biked.

Floating down the Deschutes...

Aaron had this crazy contraption...

We stayed with Lou Doo, Joel, & Mary pretty close to downtown.  We had some great walks into town to check out the sights.

And some great morning runs.  Shasta at the tippy top of Pilot Butte with the Sisters in the background.

Then we went up to Smith Rock area and found some camping behind it.  This was during a morning run.

Top of Grey Butte

Nikko enjoying the water at Smith

And we cruised over to Steelhead Falls which was a nice swimming hole.

Grabbing food & brews at Sisters

Lots of snacks on this trip...

A quick visit to Sparks Lake... which was really really low...

And there were leeches...

I love the "canyoneering" at Sparks Lake.

Found a mtn bike feature in one of the neighborhoods in Bend.

More treats

And more...

Joel got some too

Central Oregon Road Trippin' - Part 1: Waldo Lake

Kai and Nikko paddling across quiet (and smokey) Waldo Lake

The boys were ready to go. These past few weeks have been too smoky and the boys were stuck bouncing off the walls.

Waldo Wasn't looking great, but definitely better!

Nikko dancin' after the long drive.

The canoe was full, so we towed Kai on his own SUP.

"What up dude?"

The Lake was a bit smokey, so we had it pretty much to ourselves.  We found a sweet site that was almost an island.  Shasta was ready to get off the canoe

Kimbo was in no hurry

Sweet site!

The boys were inspired by the Younkin boys and wanted to sleep in their own hammock

Dinner time!

After dinner games

Kimbo the loser!
