#RetroCAFilipino Part 3: Chris and D's wedding!

Finally... the wedding.  With all the nearby wildfires, the smoke was a real concern, but at this elevation the smoke stayed down low in the valley and turned out to be a beautiful day for a wedding at Bear Valley.

The boys woke up early, Kimbo was hung over, so I took my boys out into the brisk mtn morning.  First, we watched the swallows across the street...
Then they found the playground...
And then on to the "Par-course".  I think that is a play on parkour...
Kai stretching, while NIkko swings...
After some monkey bars, rope swings, tire runs we made it up to this reservoir... which is "private".  I hate private lakes.  That's probably the height of douchebaggery, IMO.
Soon we gathered up the troops while our partners lay hung over begging for coffee...
And we went back to Lake Alpine for a quick second...
Maya knows how to get ready to party...
And some scenes from the wedding.
It was quite lovely.

The live band was fun... good thing they had a big horn section as the power went out and there was no lights, or amps... but the horns, and drums kept it going...
Nikko... asleep through the commotion
The next morning, we had to organize our gear so we could all fit..

And we stopped by Bryce Station on the way down so Stu could meet Nikko and Kimbo.

And we stopped by Murphys on the way down to cool off...
and even got ice cream... again
Nikko was in a funk here...
This park is pretty sweet...
Soon it was time to go... and time for hugs.

Yoo HooTuolomo; Yee Hee Tuolumne! - Part 2

Good lookin' crew... too bad it's a tad bit out of focus...

Sunday in Tuolumne.
The mornings and evenings get coooooold in Tuolumne.  Thank god Metres brought his crash pad, as I had forgot to toss in my sleeping pad.

But I woke up early anyway to check out Elizabeth Lake... another beautiful lake in Yosemite...
Frosty trails.

Back at camp... Nikko the lobster...
Busted trying to steal all 4 swords
Remember the snot... it blackened nicely.
Early morning hunting for uncle Timmy...

Those were some good sequence shots egh?

Once it warmed up we cruised over to Pothole Dome.
And I quickly set up a top rope with Kai.
Kai doing a legit pitch...

The kids found a tiny froggie...

Uncle Timmy came by, and we put him on his first real climbing route!
Afterwards we hiked to the top!

Then we grouped up at Tenaya lake!
For some swimming, spike ball, and chillaxing...

 Next time with the fam.
  • Stay a week!  The drive is a bit long...
  • Take Kai up Cathedral and Eichorn?
  • Go to Mystery Dome
  • Take floaties down the Tuolumne River?  Is that legal?
  • Mt. Dana?
These Nature Notes are awesome.  Here's one about the Yellow Legged Frog... Ranger Eric told us these guys are his favorite.
