Too bad this is pretty blurry.  It turns out getting a good pano, while SUP-ing in low light... is tough.  

Pano: N. Chalone Peak summit with Sam

Sam and I went on a morning run in Pinnacles on Sat.  The proposed route looked nice on paper.  A big 15 mile loop on trails up to S. Chalone and N. Chalone peak.  Plus we also heard that there is a nesting pair of California Condors on N. Chalone...

But the situation changed quite dramatically when the trail fizzled to nothing at mile 2 and we had to bushwack/walk up the creek for a mile or so.  Then we realized that the very straight trail turned out to be the barbed wire fence marking the boundary of the national park.  So the first 6 miles took 2 hours.  An hour or so behind schedule... and we didn't have time to mess around and look for the birdies... but all in all an adventure.  And we caught a beautiful sunrise, and had a great run on the second half.

Weekly Pano: Morning Skate Ski

Enjoyed 3 days of skate skiing last weekend.  This was from Sun... when I really didn't want to get up at 5:30 am for the 3rd day in a row.  But these pics should keep me inspired to keep getting my butt out of the house and into the darkness.

We had a ski movie showing at Toro's later that night.  That was fun.

I can sure get used to the routine of getting up in the morning, walking 2 min to the groomed trails, and slip slidin' for 5 mi to start the day... doesn't happen all the time, maybe 50% of the time due to conditions, but sure is fun.

Weekly Pano: Emerald Bay

Our launch: DL Bliss SP, a 4 mile paddle, which was plenty far enough with 2 kiddos and all our gear.
