Central Oregon Road Trippin' - Part 2: Bend with Mooreheads/Dixons

After Waldo Lake, the boys and I checked out the bike park at Bachelor.  Just the kiddie zone.  That was fun for a few hrs.  

The Bridges came up and met up with us for the next few days.

I believe this is Tumalo Falls... that Shasta and I ran to, while the fam biked.

We stayed with Lou Doo, Joel, & Mary pretty close to downtown.  We had some great walks into town to check out the sights.  

And some great morning runs.  Shasta at the tippy top of Pilot Butte with the Sisters in the background.

Then we went up to Smith Rock area and found some camping behind it.  This was during a morning run.

And we cruised over to Steelhead Falls which was a nice swimming hole.

A quick visit to Sparks Lake... which was really really low... 

And there were leeches... 

I love the "canyoneering" at Sparks Lake.

Found a mtn bike feature in one of the neighborhoods in Bend.

Exploring the Rogue '21

We've been getting on the river a bit more this year locally, which has been fun.  We need to get a raft... and doing the Wild and Scenic is high on the list...

Went back to back this weekend...

• Gold Hill down to Rogue River (should take out at VOTR as that last section is flat)
• Touvelle to Lyman's (it's chill down to Fisher's Ferry, from there there are 2 or 3 tricky rapids that are class II).  
• Gold Hill to VOTR with the boys (forgot the IK... whoops)
• 4th of July SUP with Jasper from Gold Hill to VOTR
• Dodge to Touvelle with Balesteris, Jasper, Fam
• Dodge to Touvelle with the Smiths and Jasper

Bend Shenanigans

Cruised up to Bend for the weekend to visit the Mooreheads.  La la land.  And it's quite awesome.  Had a great time hanging with the Mooreheads.  Floating the Deschutes, hiking, mtn biking, and I got to tag S. Sister with Andrew on Father's day.  Fun times.

Bolinas for Smitty's B-day x2

I love Bolinas.  Such a quirky, funky spot.  And Smitty has been celebrating his B-days there the last few years in a sweet house.  I get to go on a sweet trail run in the morning, hang out with friends on the beach, maybe catch a few waves on my SUP, then

Just ran out to Bass Lake and back.  No rope swing for me this time... 

But what a sweet trail.

Back at the house, Smitty was ready to party!
