Hut to Hut in the Alps - Part 3: Plaisance -> Ref Gliere -> Ref Laisonnay

I recovered from the earlier f-up with some fine beers, food, a nights rest, and a morning run to greet my new friends, Ibex.  After yesterday, we had to rearrange the whole trip... but as Yvon says, it's not an adventure until something goes wrong.  But to tell you the truth, this left turn made the trip a bit less of an adventure.  Instead of being able to go further out from civilization, we had to stay close and didn't really get to go deep into the alps.

The food, the huts, the people were amazing, but one thing I'll say is that you never really feel like you are in the wilderness here.  It's not like the Sierra where you can go x-country and not see people for days, weeks if you know where to go.  Here you are just an hour or two away from a hut, maybe a fromagerie, a chapel, a ski hut, etc.  But... the Alps are amazing, and give me any excuse and I'll be back there in a few seconds.

So the next morning we decided to do a day hike to the col.
Check out the bike handle bars... for getting in your proper position.
The hills are alive...
Kids loved the chickens

We ate lunch at the col, then hiked back down to the refuge to get Cassie and the rest of our gear...

We offered to carry the beer bottles down.  They are usually helicoptered in!  Crazy, and they weren't all that expensive.
Kai showing off the accommodations at Ref Gliere.  Note: 1st floor means the 2nd floor in europe.  Ground floor, 1st floor, etc...
