Another Mem day weekend in Lassen! Had crazy weather, but that's why we get these cabins. Every year you just have to adapt to the weather and figure out what activities we can do.

Had to fix a flat on the radwagon... which is a royal pain |
Crop dusting... Nikko's weapon of choice |
Kai is obsessed with Ghost peppers these days. |
This place has quite the selection of hot sauces |
after the Mexican food stop, we got some tornado warnings... which I thought was weird. Then we saw a rainbow. |
And then I saw this! |
Check out this pic that another photographer got of the storm:
not my photo... |
we took shelter at a school |
After arrival, we got the kids to bed, had a few beers and bunked for the night. It continued to hail and this is what it looked like the next morning. |
Henry! |
The sun soon came out and we saw a hail/snow covered Lassen every few minutes. |
Fishies! |
bald eagle sighting! |
After lunch Sam and I decided to run up Chaos Crag. |
Oli begged to join. |
Oh yeah, and Sam was in his jeans. |
Summit shot! |
Crazy floating trees... post avalanche sights. |
Next morning... |
I went out for a high consequence paddle with Sam. |
We walked over to the ranger station so the kids could get their junior ranger badges! |
Then we drove over to the caves |
which was the right call given the cooooold weather outside. |
Tim found some snow plants on the drive home. |
I've heard you can eat it like asparagus.... but I think this was too big. Ugh. |
Next morning, Dave and I decided to go up towards Lassen for a quick skin |
We made it an hour and a half before we were totally socked in and couldn't see anything... |
Silly kiddos... |
